The two biggest reasons single mums never start a business are the same two words, over and over. No money. No experience. I had both of those problems and I built ten businesses anyway. Here is exactly how you get past them, without pretending they do not exist.
The reason money used to matter so much is that a business needed a team. A developer to build the site, a designer for the brand, a copywriter for the words, a marketer to get seen. Every one of those people cost money you did not have, so the business died before it started.
That whole team now fits inside one AI. Claude writes the code, designs the layout, writes the copy, and builds the strategy in a single conversation. A domain costs about fifteen dollars a year, hosting and a database start free, and Claude runs on a monthly subscription. A real business can now start for less than what most people spend on coffee in a month.
You think experience means having run a business before. It does not. It means knowing one thing from the inside, deeply, because you have lived it. That is worth more than any qualification.
I built a cleaning platform, Nest & Nurture Society, from twelve years of cleaning. I built an art platform, Solene Haus, because I was an exploited artist. I built a doctor-visit platform, CALLS Health, because I could not get a GP to my door. I had no business degree. I had lived problems, and a lived problem is the strongest foundation a business can have.
Write down every problem you have personally experienced in an industry you know. Open Claude and describe that industry, those problems, and the people being hurt by them. Let Claude help you shape it into a platform, a revenue model, a brand and a simple tech stack. Build one page and put it live. Then create content that answers the exact questions your future customers are already asking AI. That is the entire method.
It is still hard. You will be tired. Claude will make mistakes and you will have to fix them. Some days nothing will work. Having no money and no experience is not the thing that stops people, quitting is. The single mums who succeed are simply the ones who kept going one more day.
